Tinsdills Solicitors have presented a cheque for £6000 to Douglas Macmillan Hospice. The hospice, which has been supported by Tinsdills Solicitors for many years, is currently the firms Nominated Charity.
Tinsdills have worked closely with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) to raise the total from untraceable funds, small amounts which have accumulated over many years whose owners cannot be traced. The SRA allows the donation of these funds to charity under certain circumstances, recognising the benefit that charities can gain from funds that would otherwise have sat dormant and unused.
Tim Cogan, Managing Partner presented the Hospice with a cheque for the monies on Wednesday 13th November. Tim commented,
“Tinsdills decided to ask staff who they’d like the firm to support and focus on for its fundraising activities. Overwhelmingly they chose the Dougie Mac, recognising the valuable work that they do. “Supporting a local charity is important to Tinsdills as being a local firm we want to actively support the local community which we serve. We hope that the money we’re donating makes a difference to the people and families that the Dougie Mac supports.”
Liz Clarke, Head of Fundraising added,
“We would like to thank everyone at Tinsdills Solicitors for this incredible sum of money. “Donations such as this will help the Hospice to continue to care for local people of North Staffordshire facing a life limiting illness.”
