Partner Richard Whitehouse is Racketlon Star

Richard Whitehouse powered through the Racketlon English Open to be crowned over-55s champion.

Competitors from across the globe flocked to the English Open held at the Redbridge Sports Centre in Essex on the weekend of 22nd/23rd August. Richard saw off competition from fellow Brits Richard Lawrence and Charles Eaton in each of the sports four disciplines – tennis, squash, table tennis and badminton - to clinch first place. The result leaves him as the world number 10 in the over 55s category.

Richard said, “The standard at these events just keeps getting better and better so I just have to go out there and do my best. Of course it’s always good to get a win under your belt and it makes all the training worthwhile.”

Training has now started for Richard in readiness for the World Championships which are due to take place in Hanover in November.
