The Solicitors Regulation Authority - Personal Injury Accreditation

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) regulates more than 100,000 solicitors in England and Wales. The SRA operates accreditation schemes in order to achieve the following:

  • Ensure that clients are easily able to identify legal practitioners with proved expertise in given areas of law.
  • Help clients make informed choices.
  • Promote high standards in legal service provision.
  • Ensure scheme members maintain relevant standards of expertise by means of periodic reselection, reaccreditation and reauthorisation.

By achieving membership of the accreditation scheme, Tinsdills have proved that they have met the rigorous standards set by the SRA.

     APIL

APIL (the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) was established in 1990 by a group of lawyers working on behalf of personal injury victims and now has over 5,000 members. It campaigns for better laws to help people who are injured or become ill through no fault of their own.

APIL is an independent, not for profit organisation providing accreditation to lawyers specialising in personal injury law. The accreditation certifies that an APIL lawyer has achieved a certain standard of expertise and competence officially recognised by APIL’s independent Academic Quality Council.

   Investors in People

The Investors in People standard was developed in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses and national organisations. The standard provides a flexible framework to help organisations improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people.

The Investors in People standard is based on three key principles,

  • Plan – developing strategies to improve the performance of the organisation.
  • Do – taking action to improve the performance of the organisation.
  • Review – evaluating the impact on the performance of the organisation.

Since it was developed the standard has been reviewed every three years with the assessment criteria becoming ever more rigorous. Tinsdills has an ongoing commitment to meeting those standards.

   Resolution

Resolution was founded in 1982 and promotes an approach to family law that is sensitive, constructive, cost effective and most likely to result in an agreement.

All members of Resolution are committed to following a Code of Practice which emphasises a constructive approach to family problems and encourages solutions that take into account the needs of the whole family.

   Collaborative Law

The Collaborative Law process is a relatively new way of dealing with family disputes that resolves issues by face to face meetings between the parties and their legal advisors. It gives both parties the opportunity to become more actively involved in dealing with the issues. The greater involvement of the parties often means that issues can be resolved more quickly and with less conflict.

Collaborative Lawyers are specially trained and committed to the Resolution Code of Practice.
